Las Vegas State Park

Yesterday we decided to take a drive out to Nevada's State Park, we had zero clue what to expect. We went in threw the gate drove around the park for maybe 3 minutes and we were done, I was thinking "great there goes our $6 bucks it cost us to get in"!
Okay so I just threw in this picture of Cole sense he was not in any photos below he slept the whole time.
We parked our car and got out and walked around the "historic" part of the park with some old buildings that were not very exciting..
An old bridge that at one point had water under it. There were a ton of peacocks in the area.
The peacocks were pretty friendly to people but I don't think this one enjoyed Ava making chicken sounds at her. Let me tell you this also scared me... a little too close for comfort.
As we walked we ran into none other than a little farm with all sorts of animals, this trip just got better, seeing as Ava loves animals! Ava and her daddy at a little chicken coup.
Some goats, and one trying to escape and yes this also "scared" me a tad but then we realized his booty was pretty stuck!
A million year old huge sheep with some goats, and a baby cow was in there. We also saw quite a few horses and ponies. Ava was very excited to see all the animals, now that was worth the $6 bucks! She even told her daddy... " I love animals" so adorable!
After our visit with the animals we walked around a pretty big fishing pond with lots of fisherman.  Apparently they are easily irritated I guess they didn't enjoy my daughter and I throwing old trail mix at the ducks that made them swim in their direction...
So this is us just annoying some fisherman..
Doing some duck watching that annoyed a second fisherman..
Our second fisherman we annoyed... yep I got a dirty look from him!
Ava and her daddy walked towards some park bench area and look what he brought back for us! Just a little token to remember this trip by!
Okay so we didn't really keep the "token" Grant threw it away in this trash. Well what ended up looking like was to be a waste of a trip ended up being a really nice outing. If you live in Vegas give the Floyd Park a whirl it's worth it!

A little Valentine's Party

Last Friday I hosted a mini Valentine's party for our play group.  It turned out pretty good the kids played and fought, the usual one to five year old thing! We had some yummy snacks and passed out Valentines.
Ava and Chloe doing their usual none smiling poses for the camera!
Haley and Ava doing their pose!
A little mac and cheese..
A little playing and TV watching of course.
There were a few more kids but I unfortunately didn't get pictures of everyone this was the best I could do between watching the kids and listening to Ava cry every once in a while sense other kids were playing with her toys!
The cute little twin girls!! We hope everyone had a nice day on Valentines!

yummy cupcakes!

Today we made some cupcakes for a little Valentines Party play group we are having at our house.... I let Ava lick the batter, she really enjoyed that!
Oh and don't worry these cupcakes do not have any egg in them. I wouldn't let Ava eat raw egg!
Cole was wondering when he will be able to lick the batter? Soon enough my big guy!
He said forget it then I am going to sleep! And yes that is what he told me... I stay home all day with a now 3 yr old and a 4 month old so yes they talk to me even the baby! :)

Ava's 3rd Birthday Party!

Big 3 year old Birthday girl!
Last Saturday we had a Ava's 3rd birthday party! It was her first "real" party we did for her. The other two have been only little family birthdays.
Her birthday theme was animals, this is her favorite thing lately. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the cake before I cut it, and the only reason I remembered was because Grant asked me if I took one! Opps!
Same goes for the display, her is the table a mess!
We had such a great little party for her, there were about 10 kids there!
                                                   Pizza time!
Ava going crazy running around!

There were only a few dads that came, here are my dad and Grant and Steve having some guy chit chat.
These boys didn't want anyone to know they attended a girls birthday party!

Super Bowl Antics

For the Superbowl we went over to our friends house to "watch" the game.. but with kids do you ever really get to do that? Cole and his daddy did for a little bit..
Makenna and Ava took turns taking each other's food and toys and getting mad at each other or at least Ava getting mad, Makenna is just over a year younger so she isn't in the caring faze of getting things taken away from her.

By the time the game was ending there were meltdowns had by all, here is Haley having hers while trying to hide from the camera.
Notice I didn't get many pictures, that was because it was way to hectic with kids and a baby. We of course had lots of fun anyways. Thanks Jen and BJ for letting us hang out!

Not a good way to sleep

This is the way Cole would prefer to sleep..

I took the blanket off his head, then he covered his mouth..
