Pumpkin Carving with the little Pumpkins~

Ava loved her bat cat design she picked out.

The pumpkin below is from a local farm in town and in September you can go and carve with a pen a design or such on the baby pumpkin as its growing on the vine. We picked it up in Oct. and it turned out to be pretty big!

Daddy and the kids carved some pumpkins the weekend of Halloween. They were fascinated but of course one but daddy wanted to dig out the inside of the pumpkin... maybe next year?

3rd Birthday!

My big boy turned 3 October 2nd. We did a trip to Chuck E. Cheese with 2 other family friends and came home to presents and a Buzz Lightyear birthday cake. We love our crazy and affectionate big man!

Grandpa Gary and Grandma Jane came down the weekend before Cole's 3rd birthday to celebrate. We went to the Harvest Festival, ate out a few times, and then Cole got to open his present. A big Buzz! And to say he was excited would be a major under statement!

A couple of weekends ago while daddy was golfing I decided to take the kids to Avila Barn and it was so much fun! We got to go on a hay ride out to the orchards of lots of their crops of fruit and then they let you off at the apple orchards and let you pick apples! Us "Vegas" people thought it was amazing! So much fun! Who wants to come visit us and apple pick?!

Yep, I am officially a soccer mom! Ava has had 2 games so far and each time has scored goals. First game 2 goals after the whistle and 2 goals for the other team. Second game was just a straight 2 goals for the other team! Go Ava!

This 4th Grant had to work at night. But we got to play with him at the beach for a few hours in the morning before he was off to work "making that paper" (inside joke). That evening we had some friends over for the awesome 4th cake Ava and I made and some street fireworks! A good time was had by all!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. We spent the night at our friends house with the kids in Atascadero and left 4 kids with a babysitter for 4 hours! And they did great! We had a great time. The next morning we had a great breakfast before heading out all the way home... maybe 30 mins away?? Good times for sure.

An Early Bday Celebration

We celebrated her 5th birthday by going to the SB zoo with Grandpa Gary and Gma Jane.

Okay so I had to include my fireplace about things I am loving here. Seriously people. Its gas therefore easy to turn on and just so cosy! Oh and I also love those 2 people sitting on the fireplace!

First Day of Pre-School and an Accident

Figured this was worth a short blog. Ava started preschool this September and after I dropped her off Cole and I went to the park. When we left the park I got hit from my side.. long story short- my fault, we were okay, my car has been bye, bye since. At the time it was one of those sayings "when it rains it pours" thank goodness Grant got the best news a few weeks after this. That we would be moving to the Central Coast. Thank you God! No really, thank you God!

Yep we are moving back to California! Better yet we are gonna be living in Grover Beach! Grant landed an amazing job for PG&E at the nuclear power plant in Avila Beach. We will be official residents December 4th! This is wonderful news for our family we have really been thru so much in 2010. We are so ready for 2011!!

Halloween Day

We had such a fun Halloween this year. Ava was a lady bug and Cole was a firefighter. We first went to the pumpkin patch in the morning and the kids bounced in the bounce house and went down the pumped up slide a billion times or until we were out of money. After that they had a great nap and we went off to our friends house and went trick or treating. It was Ava's first year of completely understanding the concept and Cole was adorable following around the older kids. For sure a fabulous Halloween!

So I haven't blogged in about 3 months! Yikes! It is one of my new year's resolutions to be a more active blogger but I am thinking I should start before January. Going to start at Cole's 2nd birthday. He turned 2 October 2nd and we just had both sets of grandparents come to our place to celebrate. Turned out to be a good idea because well to say the least Cole was pretty "stressed" out about the whole birthday thing. As you can see from above. It did end up being a nice time with family at least.

We went to go return something at the mall and decided to take the babes on the merry go round too. Only to find out it's free on Wednesdays! How awesome is that!? Stuff like that makes me excited. So we rode 2 times. Both babes loved it!

We took the girls to Shark Reef last week and it was lots of fun. I gotta say when you have been to the best aquariums there are this is a bit of a disappointment but it's always fun with good friends. Afterwards we went window shopping and then of course had some delish frozen yogurt. Good times!

A few weeks ago I had a wonderful birthday. Kids and daddy made me pumpkin pancakes, went swimming and best of all had a wonderful evening out with the husband. Ate dinner on the strip then went to a comedy show. Thanks to my husband this birthday for making every effort to making my day special!

It was such a nice Mother's day this year. Ava and I made waffles for everyone for breakfast. And let me tell you our kitchen was a waffle disaster afterwards. Of course Ava had to have chocolate chips in hers. After our waffle breakfast we went to Bellagio to see the atrium and watch the water show. We left undecided where to eat based on having impatient children and not much money. So where did we eat?? Costco of course! I also should say my husband got me roses this year too! Never happens. Thought I should write it down. Love my family.

Vegas Snow!

We were hoping for a whole snow pile like we have had before so we could build a snowman. No such luck. Ava had fun for about 20 minutes playing in it. Of course our Vegas girl said it was too cold. I think we are due back for another trip to Mt. Charleston for the real snow!

Why oh why did I decide to leave the house for Fresno? It started with Ava getting sick but on the mend of getting better with her antibiotics. I had a feeling inside Cole was next. Boy I should have listened to my instinct on that one. We had plans to go for a really good friend's baby shower I wanted to attend that weekend and Grant had some stuff to take care of. We left on Wednesday and by Thursday late afternoon Cole had croup. Thankfully my wonderful doctors office called in an RX to the pharmacy. But of course he didn't sleep at all thru the night the rest of the trip. And then of course he got me sick. Oh well, next time I will listen to my self more.. but there was a few nice times of seeing some dear friends. It was a great time celebrating at the baby shower my friends first baby to be. Got to see my best friend for at least an hour. And got to hang out with an old friend the first day we were there (before the sickness).

We made it home to shower and change and we were off to see Le Reve! My friends husbands works for the show and he got us 2 free tickets! It was so amazing and totally worth going even though I felt terrible! We are so lucky they thought of us for the tickets!

Mount Charleston Snow Fun

Can you believe this place is about 45 minutes from our house!? It was about 70 in Vegas that day and 40 degrees in Charleston. Awesome. We had a great time playing in the snow and eating our lunch at the ski lodge. Grant took Ava down the small hills with our sled a million times! Even Cole got to go down the sled with daddy!

Valentine's Day~

We had a fabulous Valentine's Day. We took the babes out to the park to fly Ava's new princess kite, play ball, blow some bubbles and run around. Afterwards we had a fabulous Valentine lunch at McDonald's. Before heading home we stopped off to visit the ducks and feed them some duck good ( goldfish crackers). In the evening Grant and I got to eat at a (romantic) buffet and go see the movie Valentine's Day. Hope everyone got to spend time with the people they love too.

Are we bad parents, because we totally let our 16 month old eat like this? Yes, he didn't just make a mess he actually ate. He loves all pastas, but this is him at the end of a meal. Afterwards he goes straight to a bath! Do any of you have a kid like this? Or are you good parents?

Ava's Birth Day~ Feb. 9th

She got a princess coloring kit, wrapped so nicely in a Target bag. Opps. At least she was still excited.
We went to Denny's for the free grand slams! How awesome is that? We got 4 of them all for free.

Cole slept threw the whole thing. Don't worry he woke up at the end to eat 2 sausages.

It was cold and rainy that day, so we got creative and went to the outlet mall and took her on the merry-go-round.
They also went on the little rides around the mall.

That evening Ava and I made pizza's for her birthday dinner.
It was a nice day with the family. I still cannot believe I have a 4 year old!

This year I was WAY undecided what or what not to do for Ava's 4th Birthday, given the recent set of events that has happened. A week before I sent out some invites for a party, well given my late notice I only had one for sure coming, long story short I canceled the "friend party". Grants parents were coming in that weekend and my parents would be here so we opted for a family bday party at Chuckie and then back to out house for cake and presents. Again last minute Ava's friend Makenna was able to come with her parents. All worked out so great and having at least one friend for Ava to play with was awesome. I think when your kids are this young you can get away with this kinds of "planning" or lack there of. My little princess will be 4 years old on Tuesday. Time has passed by so quickly! I honestly remember her birth like yesterday! I love you with all my heart Ava and thank God for giving you to me everyday!

Last week we decided to check out the new City Center on the strip. It was the usual mess of expensive restaurants (that we will never go to) and the expensive shops (that we will never shop) but always fun to walk around and see all the decor. We did however decide to eat at the new buffet. (we don't go to expensive restaurants, but we sure don't pass up on a buffet!) It was super yummy. We then went on the tram from City Center to Bellagio to check out the atrium decor. Ava was sooooo excited to go on the "train" which she called it. When we got to the atrium it was the whole chinese new year theme and this year was the year of the tiger. I have to say the chinese one and the Christmas one's are my fave! We tried getting some decent pics there too... not bad.

My children may not exactly be clones of myself in the looks department BUT they did get their mom's sweet tooth. We have been going to a frozen yogurt place a lot lately that is a self serve joint. I love it because it has tables to sit and enjoy and HIGHCHAIRS! Yes, none of the other yogurt shops provide them. So this is where we go! And yes, I totally convince myself it's healthy!

Well January has not let us in down in the since that is has literally be a whirlwind of a crazy month for our family. We are embarking on some big changes for 2010 which I am now over being "sad" about and now excited for what is to come. Also both little babes have been sick with fevers and Cole got croup. Poor things, I think they are finally on the road to recovery.

We have been pretty much home bound because of the sickies. That means more projects for Ava at home and that includes lots of cooking! It's been really fun actually. Hopefully no more sickness for a while after this month.

Ava and I have been making lots of cookies together this December. And its really been so much fun she is such a fun age right now. And to be honest I have made some of the BEST cookies of my life with her! Crazy. Her and dad and her did a gingerbread train together and it turned out unbelievably great! I am glad daddy did that with her. I am thinking we are going to make homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas Eve this year. We will see if they will turn out as yummy as my cookies have been.

Our good friends throw an annual Christmas Party where Santa makes an extra stop before the big day. Ava couldn't have been happier when she saw Santa handing out presents to everyone! It was super fun and crazy with tons of kids. Ava is all about Santa and presents this year wanting everything on the commercials and the catalogs! Cole on the other hand is not so much a Santa fan right now.

Two days ago Grant turned 34! Getting old! He took the day off to just hang out with the family. It was a nice relaxing day. We headed over to Bass Pro to take the kids to see the Santa there but no such luck he in only there in the evenings. They also have a lot of little stations out for the kids. In the evening we got to get out for a little dinner with out the babes, which is always nice! We love you lots babe and the kids love you tons too!

We went to Selma last weekend for a wedding Grant was a part of. And my awesome in-laws babysat the babes most of the weekend. Grandma Jane bought Ava her first gingerbread house to put together, it was super fun to watch. It turned out great. Now Ava is obsessed to buy a gingerbread train she found in a magazine, so it looks like that's what we will be doing next. Say a prayer for that! I am no fan of putting these things together!

This year for Thanksgiving we stayed in Vegas. Our usual tradition is going back to Selma where Grant's parents are. This year Grant was in a wedding the next weekend after Thanksgiving. So we didn't want to do the drive 2 weekends in a row with 2 CRAZY kids!

We had a nice meal together at my parents house and then went to Bellagio to see the Thanksgiving/Fall Display at the Atrium. And afterwards we went outside to see the water show. It was a total "Vegas" style Thanksgiving!

Just about everyday she wears her Snow White costume from Halloween. I am loving it! She just told me "You know what, I think I want another princess costume." Love this stage she is going thru. Hopefully Santa comes thru with some princess costumes for her.

This year Ava went door to door trick or treating for the first time. Last year we went to a Vegas event that was way to crowded! This year our friends invited us to trick or treat with them in their neighborhood, which was an awesome time. It was so much fun to watch all the kids run door to door in the neighborhood. Also at the last minute Grant and I decided we would join in the dress-up fun. I shaved Grant a mohawk and he was a UFC fighter with tattooed arms and blood. He looked great. I don't know what I was... I guess just a punk chic! Thanks for inviting us Jen and BJ we had a fabulous Halloween with you guys!

We packed up the family truckster and headed to Fresno for a quick weekend. We all made it in one piece! Traveling in the car for more than an hour with our kids is not so much fun. We had a really great weekend tho. Our friends who live in Colorado were in town for their baby's baptism so we got to see them and even had a double date with no kids with them! I also got to spend the day with my BFF Sara and her little one Trevor. It was a great time as always. Whenever I go to visit her I go always leave missing her more! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Ono for giving us a evening with out kids and helping us out!

Pumpkin Patch~

We went to a pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago. And to be honest it wasn't that exciting. First it was SUPER HOT the day we went both kids were beat red when we got into the car. I must admit the kids especially Ava had fun going on the big slide a few times. Oh well, hopefully next year we can find a better place to go to and hopefully it won't be so dang hot!

Cole had his First Birthday Party on the 3rd. It was a wild and crazy time! Can't believe a year has passed already. We love our little big boy so much. He loves to eat, play with cars and trucks and loves going outside. I unbelievably love him so much and am so blessed and happy to have him!

First Haircut for a First Birthday!

Amazingly to my surprise Cole did great getting his first haircut! He only tried to grab her comb or scissors twice. The place and the lady who did it was fabulous. He also got the cutest certificate with his picture and his hair for the baby book. I was going to try and get Ava's first haircut too, yes she is 3 1/2 and never gotten her haircut. There has never been a need since it's super curly but now it needs to be evened out. Anyways as you can see with her facial expression it wasn't going to happen that day! Cole looks even more handsome. And yes it was his first birthday too! Happy Birthday little big boy, I unbelievably love you and am so blessed to have you!

Day two we went to a small town little fair. It was lots of fun with a few little rides for Ava and lots of little animals to look at. The local firefighters had a free dress up and tour of the truck with a picture, Ava never smiled during it I guess she took her "job" seriously as firefighters do! We had lots of fun of course and the kids had a good nap back in the car!

We made it to the Seattle airport around noon on August 6Th. The plane ride went well with the kids on the way there. Uncle Chris picked us up and we were off to his and Grandma's houses in Port Orchard. The kids were not happy about being trapped in the car for an hour drive after the airplane. We made it tho and hung out at their house for the rest of the day. The next day we all packed up and headed for the big Seattle Zoo! It was a great day at the HUGE zoo. We had lots of fun that tired us all out!

It's been HOT (112!) and the kiddies have been not feeling that great. Therefore we have been kept inside and trying to keep them entertained has been hard. Friday night we all decided to hit the buffet dinner at Bass Pro. Then we went and saw the fishes and animals. Then yesterday we went to Petco hoping to see some animals but there wasn't many but it was nice getting out of the house!

6th Anniversary~ Mesquite Getaway

We had our 6th Anniversary on July 12th and were able to get away for a night to Mesquite. We had a great time. Lounging at the pool, eating out, and even seeing a movie all the things we can never do with our kiddies!

The weather has been beautiful here. We have been going to the duck pond across the street. Ava loved feeding the ducks Eggo cereal, which they also enjoyed!

A couple of weekends ago we headed over to the Bellagio on the strip, we hadn't been for a while so we went to see the atrium with the flower display and also to see the water show out front. Well of course they were having maintenance on the water show. That meant no show for us. We had fun getting out and taking some cute pictures of the kids.

Grandpa had his birthday yesterday, so we all went out and celebrated with dinner. After dinner Ava was eager to go see the big fish tank that was there.
